The Procurement and Materials Manager will be a part of our operations team and report directly to Charles Brill, co-founder, and Director of Operations. As a member of the operations team, the position has the following requirements:
-Responsible for all material management functions related to the planning, scheduling, inventory, raw materials, and finished goods to support the company sales projections while maintaining the integrity of 100% on-time customer deliveries.
-Leads and manages all procurement activities including order placement, supplier management/evaluation, supplier follow-up, pricing negotiations
-Provide expertise and oversight of the production planning process; act as key liaison and subject matter expert in the areas of demand planning, production scheduling and achievement of on-time delivery goals; partner closely with Production Manager in all production planning goals and objectives
-Maintains optimal inventory levels to support sales orders and shipment goals per required schedules. - Facilitates Kanban and materials requirement planning techniques as required
-High level of cross functionality; extensive collaboration with sales, production, accounting, design, etc. to maximize customer order fulfillment and manage customer expectations (internal and external) and communicate changes timely and accurately
-Reviews and analyzes supply planning/master scheduling data and establishes appropriate parameters to insure continuity of supply while meeting inventory and continuous improvement objectives
-Monitors shipping/receiving performance and investigates discrepancies to resolve/eliminate process deficiencies
-Ensures ERP database maintains a high degree of data accuracy, integrity, and ownership
-Embraces and deploys continuous process improvement philosophy with team through new ideas, processes, and technology
-Develops and optimizes item planning parameters within NetSuite. Monitors Item Master for integrity.
-Supports internal or external audit requirements relative to the planning, procurement or inventory control functions
Bachelor degree with concentration in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field, minimum 3 years progressive experience in a combination of purchasing, planning, logistics, production control and inventory control
3–5 years of MRP work experience within formal ERP environment (NetSuite or similar)
APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification preferred
